Excitement as Magazine Launches Northeast Bureau

 The management of Reporters magazine has commissioned a Northeast Bureau in Jalingo, the Taraba State capital on Friday. 

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, the Chairman and publisher of the magazine, Sabiu Abdullahi explained that the establishment of the bureau was a major step in the management's decision to provide job opportunities for young mass communication undergraduates in the Northeast. 

He further stated that the launching of the Northeast bureau was also part of the management's end of the year business expansion plans. 

 Malam.Abdullahi also urged students and other professionals in the Zone to take advantage of the opportunity offered by the new oftice. 

In attendance were notable academicians in Jalingo, namely Mr. Isah Mohammed, Lecturer Department of Political science and International Relations and Barrister Bilyaminu Maihanci, Bakari Ibrahim and Co. Arewa Chambers. Others are Mr. Ishaq El'kasim of the Federal University Wukari's Department of Mass Communications. 

The event was also witnessed the attention participation of PDP and APC representatives. Alh Yahaya Bobboji was also at the event as representative of Jalingo Local Government Council Chairman. 

 At the end of the event news managers and marketing staff were given their letters of appointment to man the affairs of the magazine and they are: Isa Mohammed as Bureau Chief, Abubakar Daguma as Photo Journalist and Adamu Umar as Correspondent. 

Others are Adamu Huzaifa as Marketing Manager and Kabiru A Kassa as Advert executive. A cross-section of respondents at the event variously described the establishment of the Northeast Bureau of the magazine as timely, given the challenges of unemployment among media professionals in the State.
