Being Aminu Jika Bobboji (Majidadin Muri)

The Name AMINU JIKA is a household name for a rational politics and activism in Jalingo metropolis and the state at large. His main aim, focus, mission and priority in life is the unity and progress of his people which he always sacrificed his life for. Unfortunately many misunderstood him for his open minded sincerity, boldness and objective radical approach on issues which  fetched him a lot of misinterpretations on the side of our larger society, and unknown to the people this is the kind of personality we need to honor and appreciate on issues in our society. But ironically we don't give such people an opportunity and this is a key fundamental problem affecting our collective progress and or a way forward. Such people suffer rejection as only few understand their way and succeeded in life through the grace of God because of their honesty and sincerity.

I call him my elder brother because of our family ties and or closeness and I grew up and see him with my elder brothers (Yunusa & Yakubu Babando) together and today we treat ourselves as we are from same biological origin. Because of our Family intimacy on the death of my Late Father (Sheikh Aliyu Babando) he stand as the spoke person of the family where he said much about my father and the family that I don't even know. I learned much from him on any of my encounter with him. He is exceptionally intelligent, eloquent, dynamic, very generous, humble and accommodative. He is also recognized as Comrade who mentored many politicians across the state. Personally, I picked interest and learned a lot in politics from his wealth of knowledge reference to his politics in 80s when he contested for chairman Jalingo LG and lost to late Sani Nyavo then I was in primary School and I used to hold his poster because of my interest and I enjoyed the grammar as contained in the poster even though at that time I don't even know the content meaning but I can quote the grammar as" We want power to magnify our people and to raise their consciousness on issues affecting their lives and properties through their direct involvement" this I have it on my head then.

Despite all the hitches he has achieved a lot in life with recognitions from reputable institutions and organizations. Some of which are as follow:

1. Secretary Jalingo LG

2. Chief of staff to the state executive governor

3. Commissioner for information and culture

4. Because of his Contributions to the society, Muri Emirate under His Royal Highness Alh. Abbas Njidda Tafida conferred on him a traditional title of MAJIDADIN MURI.

We need total attitudinal change towards acknowledging and appreciating good people in our society by giving them opportunity.

May Allah increase his wealth of knowledge and patience.
