Atiku: Deji Adeyanju's Poor Knowledge of History
By Oladimeji Fabiyi
There is no doubt that Nigeria is going through tough times occasioned by the inept and lack of capacity of the current leadership.
A nation that has lost it's bearing through reckless leadership and finding it very difficult to navigate through trouble waters desperately needs better hands and support to overcome it's diverse challenges.
History has it that no nation has ever become great without passing through challenges , of course for Nigeria to be great again, tried and trusted hands must take over the reign of leadership.
It is on this premise that I honestly think Deji Adeyanju needs to read more on the politics and history of Nigeria. This is because he recently displayed his trademark naivety and poor knowledge in his latest empty vituperation on former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
For the education of Deji, when France had plethora of leadership and governance problems such as ours and many other nations, they beckoned on highly experienced Charles de Gaule, when the great Britain ran into troubled waters, Winston Churchill was called upon to rescue the nation. Calling on these great men does not mean they lack vibrant youth to lead the country, but rather they chose experience over lack of it, they chose capacity over exuberance, they chose certainty over experiment.
Nigeria at this point needs an experienced hands , a leader with capacity and strong character that is lacking in Buhari's maladministraion.
It remains a high display of ignorance for someone to say Atiku is not fit to lead Nigeria.
It is on record that Atiku has demonstrated huge capacity to lead Nigeria times and times over, he towers high and above his contemporaries if truth must be told.
Need it say that Atiku is a man of incredible strength and commitment to the welfare and progress of the Nigerian youth?
History will be kind to Atiku as a leader with an impeccable capacity to identify not just brilliant but also intelligent individuals that can add value to governance, his passion for the youth to grow and excel is unparalleled.
Again, It is on record today that, Atiku was instrumental to the appointment of many brilliant young minds Obasanjo/ Atiku administration, among them were the current Kaduna State Governor, Mall Nasir Elrufai, Sen. Pius Ayim, late Mahmud Waziri, Prof. Charles Soludo to mention just a few, all of them were in their late thirties and early forties, they were stars of that administration, for instance Sen. Pius Ayim was just 41 years when Atiku supported him to become the Senate President of Nigeria.
Atiku is reputed as a Presidential candidate with the workable blueprint of how he plans to lead Nigeria.
As a matter of fact, Atiku has a common bond with the youth, he shares close affinity with them, he trends always, 80% of his children are youth and 70% of those around him are also youth. This is just for the education of the likes of Deji Adeyanju who barks aimlessly the moment his paymasters blow the whistle.
Deji must learn to appreciate what is good and not deny so on the alter of mere politics or cheap populism.
