*Classic reminder of North's food power 

*Bad news to incurable doubters

The rice pyramid that was on show in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi state today came at the right time, to remind incurable doubters that the North is the food basket of the nation. 

I had toyed with the idea of not being part of the show based entirely on perceptions with the organisers of the event. But the timing was just right, now that the country is tensed and feverish based on recent developments. 

To me, there is no better time to demonstrate our capacity to feed ourselves and even feed others than this time.
