HIGH EDUCATION: Muhammadu Indimi becomes the First Chairman of Borno state University

Yesterday In a special event at the council chambers of the Borno state Government house, His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Borno state Prof Babagana Umara Zulum  performed the official investiture and inuagration of the first Borno state University Governing Board under the chairmanship of Alhaji Muhammadu Indimi. 

Alhaji Muhammadu Indimi an international businessman is the founder and CEO of Oriental energy. 

In his citations, the vice Chancellor of the University Prof Kyari Sandabe said, the pro chancellor holds various offices within and outside the Country, contributed immensely to the development of education in Borno state by providing scholarships and above all he is a humanitarian per excellence. 

Other Members of the Board include:-

Prof. Abubakar Mustapha former vice chancellor UNIMAID.

Prof. Bankole Ogumbameru.

Prof. Shettima Umara Bulakarima.

 

Alhaji Lawan Buba.

 Representative of the University Senate.

Representative of the University Congregation.

The representative ministry of Higher Education.

The Register of Unit serves as the Secretary of the Council. 

In his introductory Remarks, the Vice Chancellor of the University Prof Kyari Sandabe said, the University has achieved tremendous progress since its establishment and commencement of Academic activities in 2019 under the present administration of Gov Zulum. To mentioned, but a few are The Furnishing of the Senate building, five Faculties construction of Staff quarters, student hostel, and road networks. While plan are in top gear for the establishment of collage if Medical sciences, Faculties of engineering and Law. 

Officially inaugurating the Governing Board the Governor called members to work assiduously in Synergy to develop the university and thank the members for accepting to serve the University in this Capacity. 

In his Acceptance Speech pro Chancellor and Chairman Governing Board   Alhaji Muhammadu Indimi  said they will work round the Clock to develop the University to perform it mandate.
