The coordinator, FCTA Counter Terrorism Desk, Mrs Miriam Yakubu Ikunaiye, has appealed to all stakeholders to join hands in tackling the current security concerns in Nigeria.
Ikunaiye made the call when she paid a courtesy visit to the FCT Commissioner of Police, Bala Chiroma, in Abuja recently.
She described security as a collective responsibility and added that for any security strategy to be successful, it must involve collaboration, partnership and cohesion among all the stakeholders in the society.
She said the establishment of counter terrorism desk by the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) in the 36 states of the Federation and FCT, through the Federal Ministry of Women Affairs could not have come at a better time as women, youth and children are critical stakeholders in fight against terrorism.
The commissioner of Police, in his remarks said the police is ready to cooperate with anyone who is ready to sacrifice their time and resources to assist the country in fighting criminality.
Chiroma said the Police Force is passionate about about crime fighting and appreciates any collaboration that will contribute to ensuring a crime free society.
