SYLVA GREETS JOANA MADUKA AT 80

Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, H.E Timipre Sylva, felicitates with Engr. Joana Olutumbi Maduka on clocking 80 today. 

Sylva described Maduka as one of the 'leading voices of the formation, growth and development of the country's oil and gas sector' 

'This amazon has kept pushing up the standards, opening doors and inspiring women across the nation with her professionalism, innovation and love for Nigeria' 

'On behalf of the Ministry, her own ministry, her own industry, we wish her a happy birthday and many happier returns' 

Maduka is the first female member of the NNPC board, the first female fellow and President of the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) and founding Chairperson of the Women in Energy Oil and Gas (WEOG) 

Maduka is the first female Engineer in West Africa. In 2008 she was honoured as Member of the Order of the Federal Republic.
