Gov. Zulum received Sangaya & Universal Basic Education team His Excellence Prof. Babagana Umara Zulum Mni FNSE received a high powered delegation of Sangaya and Universal Basic education. The Executive secretary of UBEC Dr. Ahmad Boboye who led the delegation stated that, Borno is one of the best states in the country in terms of basic education and infrastructure. According to him, Borno has other massive development projects ongoing and that the Government has done extensively well. He further stated that, he will do everything possible to see that the out of schools children has been reduced to a minimum and reform the Sangaya system in the state. According to Dr Ahmad Boboye, UBEC has been working together with the Sangaya chairman Khalifa Aliyu to see how best they can reform the Sangaya system in the state and they are getting positive results. Gov. Zulum welcomed the UBEC team for coming to the state. He also thanked and appreciated the commitment displayed by the delegation concerning the nation and Borno state in particular. Gov. Zulum further said, with their support to Borno, out of schools children will reduce and the Sangaya system will be reformed to adopt the best practices. He also said from now to December more qualified teachers are going to be recruited into the system and has also set up an assessment team to visit schools and health centers in every local government to interact with people and come up with recommendations on how to tackle the issues confronting education and the health sector at the local government level. Finally the Governor, urged the UBEC and the Sangaya system reform team to address the challenge facing the Sangaya system in the state. He prayed for the UBEC teams safe return to their destination after concluding their primary assignment.
